"Good Feelings"...."Good Worship"
It's amazing how many people think these are interchangeable. If they feel a "high"if their favorite song is played. You can have a heavy heart and feel burdened and worship God just as much as when you are on top of the world.
I'm reading a book that explains this very well.
"Pure worship is an act of our will in which we offer our allegiance, praise, and thanksgiving to God. Just because we feel good during a time of worship doesn't mean we have offered up our will in an appropriate manner. Conversely, just because we feel down or "flat" doesn't mean we aren't effectively worshiping God."

Thats something we have been talking about alot in my ministry classes. We have to understand that the worship is not about us, but it is meant for God. I HATE when people leave a church service and say, "I just wasnt feeling the worship". That is so incredibly selfish and the American church is turning into that very thing. What on earth does God owe us? He already gave us everything He had. Even when we sin we feel like we cant worship, but thats not true. Sin only changes the direction of worship. We still worship, regardless, because God is worthy, regardless of how we feel.
