"I'm going to fix you"

I was watching a show tonight ..a girl was in an accident and had very little hope of walking..the surgeon about to operate on her said "I'm going to fix you"
It reminded me of this morning when I was driving to work and listening to the Coldplay song "Fix you" I had never really listened or maybe I should say thought about the words to the song
I think alot of times I try to "fix" myself or others and it doesn't work It's beyond me and I need to let go

Fix You

when you try your best but you don't succeed
when you get what you want but not what you need
when you feel so tired but you can't sleep
stuck in reverse

and the tears come streaming down your face
when you lose something you can't replace
when you love someone but it goes to waste
could it be worse

lights will guide you home
and ignite your bones
and i will try to fix you

and high up above or down below
when you're too in love to let it go
but if you never try then you'll never know
just what you're worth

lights will guide you home
and ignite your bones
and i will try to fix you

tears stream down your face
when you lose something you cannot replace
tears stream down your face and ahhhh

tears stream down your face
i promise you i will learn from my mistakes
tears stream down your face and ahhhh

lights will guide you home
and ignite your bones
and i will try to fix you

I love that song. I am definitely a "fixer." I always try to problem solve and find the quick fix for a situation. But sometimes, there is not a quick fix. In relationships, I often try to fix everyone else (even though I have A LOT of brokenness myself).
