Digging for the truth

I went to Apex last night with my family to hear their youth/college minister, Jason Wing, speak on "The Davinci Code"
He didn't get up and bash the movie or the book What he did was challenge those listening to him to be able to know what they believe and why.
He challenged the people that attend that church regularly to look into their hearts as to why they attend there..is it because of the music?,is it because "Rob is a cool guy" ? Sometimes things are wrapped in "pretty packages" and can be deceptive i.e "The DaVinci Code"
He pulled out 5 things in the book/movie which are "distorted"(It is a FICTION book)and using scripture as well as historical facts/documents explained what was actual fact It was obvious as he spoke that he knew what he was talking about I found out later when he and his family came in to Chipotle and I was introduced to him, that he had gone through a period 5 yrs earlier when he had his own doubts . It caused him to look into scriptures and church history so that he was strong and secure in his faith. He told me that since that time it's been his passion and that was obvious when he gave his message
As believers,we are going to have people, believers and nonbelievers, asking our opinion on what we think about "The Davinci Code" You're going to make more of an impact if you know where they're coming from and know why you believe what you believe and be able to communicate that to them in a loving, effective way.

Although I think he did really bash Dan brown alot, and he deserves it.
