Man-led vs God-led
"Just like the Israelites at the foot of Mt. Sinai, many times the majority believes following God lacks logic and safety and they attempt to find a better way. Yet repeatedly, Scripture shows us, “God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong,” (1 Corinthians 1:27, TNIV). God’s plans for our churches may not appeal to many of us initially, but if we fail to follow where the Spirit is leading, we will miss out on the fullness God has planned for us."

I sometimes wonder how many times I have missed that fullness in my own personal walk

I just can't wait for the REAL church to assemble under Jesus Christ. Then we'll actually have a church that's led by God.

the question is, isn't that what God wants out of us now, in the present time. So many Christians look for this "future" kingdom, but Jesus said that the kingdom is here, now and present.

my question back to you is 'have you been to / seen a real church' here on earth other than your small group :0)? most of the churches I've been involved with have carnal goals and regardless of whether it's a man or woman leading them - the fleshly desire still runs the show b/c somewhere deep in their psychie it's about having the most numbers or about money or who gets all the credit. i've been damaged one too many times growing up to realize that utopia here on earth does not exsist. we can make it the best we can for others and show others the Truth while we are here but satan has been given free reign here.
in scripture it says there will be a time when He(Christ) returns to collect us for His own...the day and hour are unknown. I wasn't talking in the Revelation version b/c the jury is still out on that one.
thanks for your thoughts!

i agree that many times we get in the way, but we also have to keep in mind that we are the messengers of the hope that God's kingdom is here and is better than what we have experienced. it is discouraging when we expect certain things and they do not come to fuition. i would not say that 3rd place hits the mark either. there are times when i am discouraged by the lack of impact or the lack of participation and those are the times when i have to remember that the goal is to show as many people as possible what the kingdom is like.
Jesus talks about the kingdom in the present tense. He often says, "the kingodom is like..." not "the kingdom will be like." we have to keep that in mind when we are being the Church.
I personally believe that the kingdom is more about living for God now than it is about endtimes eschatology.
