Saying goodbye and welcoming a New Year
I can't believe it's the last day of 2008!
I spent this morning with my friends from work at Golden Nugget Pancake House in Kettering. Today was Sandi's (our dietitian)last day of work. She gets to retire and enjoy all of her new grandchildren :) We will miss her a lot but they do have a fill-in which is a good thing. It's always hard to say good-byes.
Chris(my house church leader) sent out an email this morning and it talks about love and the heart. I think it's a good explanation for why we always need to give a piece of our heart even if it hurts to say goodbye.
“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

I will be ringing in the New Year with my house church family.
I hope everyone who reads this has a great New Year!
