What we owe our children
One of my devotionals has had a little series onw what we our owe our children
Here's the list It's pretty good
1 Be there
Spend "intentional time let them see your fear and insecurities at times as well as your delight and appreciation of them
2 Learn from them
God speaks to us through our children
3 Be their parent not their friend
Children need structure it makes them secure
(I personally think you can be both)
4 Separate the baggage
Deal with unhealed wounds in your past or it will affect your children (This one I know from experience)
5 Forgive and ask for forgiveness
Failure is an inevitable part of learning and we must be quick to extend to others the grace thats been extended to us
6 Bless them
Whether it's saying what's in your heart or jotting down a simple note to say how proud of them you are, bless your children at every opportunity
